On February 1st, HighPoint held its first ever volunteer appreciation dinner! With over 135 volunteers in attendance, the night was a success. It was an evening of fellowship, with delicious food served by the Board of Directors. The dinner was a celebration of our volunteers and the difference they are making in our clients’ lives.
It was an opportunity to recognize and appreciate our volunteers in all of the ways they serve– pantry, clothes closet, advocates, check-in, and other behind-the-scenes roles. Many volunteers inspired attendees by sharing special memories and experiences while serving at HighPoint.
Amee D’Amico, HighPoint Executive Director, reminded volunteers of a passage in 1 Corinthians, that we are all one body with many parts and we all need each other– no part is more important than another.
Volunteers are committed to become servants of others because we want to be part of a ministry that is sharing the hope of Christ with hundreds of families each month. Recognizing that our mission is not to just improve someones economic or social condition, but to share the solution to the brokenness we all experience in this life, Jesus Christ.-Amee D’Amico, HighPoint Executive Director
We recognize that our work at HighPoint is a marathon we pray Galatians 6:9 “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest is we do not give up.”
